sinaran...mentari menyinari...

last night was filled with glitter and anticipation...
it will be the night, that we step back to 10 years ago. where we used to sing along to her music in the safety of the car that your brother rode, your room, your shower, and of course...the karaoke...where you are forgiven if you sound bad

it will also be a night that we give something back to the society, as it was actually a charity concert (donations to the IJN foundation).

sheila's best collaboration was with zainal abidin, amir yusoff, zubir ali and many more...for ikhlas concert 1992.

the hopefuls that night were...ms ray ray and her new friend, mr mellow, ms na na and her man mr him, mrs soapy and her hubby mr iran, and mcdreamy and myself...
and we also bumped into mr ais and his new fiance, ms lina.

10 almost-thirty twenty-somethings highly anticipating the night...

and there she was. clad in a bright green, long and flowy dress. looking as if age didn't tarnish her, but instead made her glow (is the secret to marry someone younger?) ;).

the first half of the concert was her mainly singing her new songs. unfortunately, we were none the wiser. didn't know most of it! we i nevertheless attempted to keep our spirits high...

intermission was amazing. each musician belted out their solos. the percussionists, violinist, bassist and drummistmer were my faves...

when she came back in a simple long black dress...i knew it. she was going to start singing the songs i grew up with. i was right!

antara anyer & jakarta, aku cinta padamu, ayu, kumohon and more!
i was going crazy! screaming, singing, dancing! now THIS is what i call a concert!

then she exited. we were so let down! where was sinaran? lagenda?! how can she NOT sing these songs!!

"we want more! We want more! We want more!", everyone was chanting.

musicians are coming back on stage. sheila came out again! (this time her outfit was...not...so....nice. glittery like a disco ball). oh well...and guess what?!

she sang dia, mengapa kasih (originally by double take), tiru macam saya, hitam putih, aduh sayang and finally!! sinaran & lagenda! we were all standing up and dancing to the memories behind these songs...

by the end of the night...our voices were croaky, stomachs were rumbling, feet were aching (from dancing in heels)...but most importantly...our heart were filled with satisfaction and nostalgia...

it was like...meeting your childhood friend again...
