SATURDAY
as planned, mcdreamy and i went to 'kl town' to check out the designers.
first stop
citysquare, ampang
designer - gezal mihat
when we arrived, she was not there yet. so mcdreamy and i stopped to have a bite (more like a meal) at this place called 'malayan cafe'. i had char kuey teow and mcdreamy had rojak. it was not too bad. considering how hungry i was, everything would've been good.
citysquare held many memories (or was it yowchuan plaza). they had toys 'r' us! and we were pleasantly (ok, not really...you should see the state of it!) surprised that it was still there. but overall, citysquare is pretty much dead. loads of closed shops. the building itself is still ok. just need brighter lights! but they could actually do it up to make it a niche place.
anyway, we finally met up with gezal.
she was very nice (i regard everyone who doesn't say my hips are big as nice..regardless if its them just being a good businessperson).
have to say that the beadwork is nice and concepts were very subtle and sweet.
however, i was not too keen on the design she recommended for me.
involved a lot of layering of chiffon at the back. seems a bit too fussy for my liking. especially since i wanted something more simple and elegant.
2nd stop (almost)
ampang point, ampang
designer - iszal ismail, butik citra
ok. firstly we got lost. we didn't know which one was ampang point! for starters, i thought it was great eastern mall. then, mcdreamy thought it was ampang city complex (or something like that). when we finally found it, it was pouring MAD (like serious visibility reduction). when we found the entrance to the car park...it was CLOSED! wtf!?
and the area was so crowded. we were STUCK. so had to call iszal and cancel. made plans to meet next week instead at the other boutique in shah alam.
disappointed...went home feeling tired and unaccomplished.
when i went home, mrs mumsietold me that her friend mentioned butik citra, in shah alam. but the designer was salleh. i told my mom what happened, and we agreed that we will just go check it out the next day.
SUNDAY
went for breakfast. after that, made way to shah alam to see the hall (Dewan Cattleya). was supposed to check out Kuzie Catering's decor for another wedding they were preparing for on that day.
when we arrived, there were already people! but not guests. so we went in anyway.
i was VERY impressed with the hall. at the price, it was a steal! the decor was also not too bad. though the colour of choice on that day...hmmm...YELLOW. but everyone their own. anyway, took some pics.
after seeing the hall, we went to Butik Citra in SACC Mall.
the outfits on display were REALLY beautiful! beadwork were so intricate and fine! i LOVE it. when Salleh, the designer arrived we sat down.
NOW, the differentiator to all the other designers i have been to.
he is SUPER NICE. and SO NOT IMPOSING.
he actually asked me what i had in mind! someone who actually cares! could tell he was also very experienced, in terms of the questions he asked me. things that you don't really think of. he has a very calm persona, which i think bought mrs mumsie straight away. he knew straight away what kind of person i am and my preference. simple and elegant.
oh! oh! and i WILL have my purple sash!
*happiness*
