i see a pattern...

i have succeeded in going through 2 of my dvds in the last 2 nights.

and both moved me to tears!

it was pretty much themed around...

• looks aren't everything
• you have to love yourself

Movie 1

this is a movie about 4 couples, who each has marital problems, be it a nagging wife, loss of a child, infidelity, misaligned wants & needs.

it starrs janet jackson, richard t. jones, tyler perry and jill scott (one of my fave singers! check out her song, a long walk home) to name a few.

the story about "sheila" (played by jill scott) was the saddest. she had a husband, who was cheating on her with their friend, trina. now sheila is somewhat on the big side. and her husband did not hide his disdain for her. ridiculing her in public, making snide remarks and even calling her "like a cow jumping over the moon".

the moral of the story was, when she realised her self-worth...she became confident and self-assured (though it was very obvious she was wearing smarmy pants and a corset to appear as if she has lost weight at the end...she looked stiff. especially at her armpits).

so, yes. movie worth watching.

Movie 2

this story is about a girl who was cursed for being the firstborn daughter of a bloodline! and her curse was a snout! yes. she looked like a pig. played by christina ricci, she managed to pull it off very well. her mother was catherine o'hara...whose character seems similar to her days of 'beetle juice'. there was even an appearance by reese witherspoon! and the hero? james mcavoy. with all his boyish charm. :)

i won't let on how the movie went...but do watch this. i promise you will laugh, tear a little and feel good after that.
