i am finding it difficult to be excited about merdeka this year, which is actuallly very weird for someone like me.i am one of those high-spirited bunnies...and i get excited at just about everything.
if there is a huge crowd, i will be the one jumping and screaming...
if there is a karaoke session, i will sing my very best (to the dismay of my company)...
if there is a birthday cake blowing candles session...i will sing the birthday song like i meant it...
you get what i mean...
on a typical merdeka day...i am usually up early to watch the parade on TV. i will always persuade mrs mumsie to hang our flag...you know...that kinda thing.
but this year...i have a few reasons why i don't feel like i truly am merdeka.
- traffic jams are at its worst, for the parade rehearsal. i have never gotten into work later than 945am...at the VERY VERY latest when there are road closures. but these past 2 days, it has been 1010am for me. yikes.
- i am still unsure about my career path, or at least where i am heading to...hopefully 'nowhere' is out of the question...
- Malaysia politics are shameful. Both parties are out there to defame each other...or should i say, 'out'-fame each other. blowing people up, swearing on the Quran & televising it (?!), sodomising, corruption. dirty politics. hate it
what merdeka means to me is...a better Malaysia. oh, and better traffic. heck, why not throw in a good career too...
let's make our forefathers proud, and also make Malaysia a better place to live for our children.

yeah. the traffic was really crazy this morning. 2 hours from sri damansara to KLcc..?? boleh sampai melaka. huhu
