aftermath...

today, i am back at work.

*pause*

waitaminute! no remorsed feelings? no suicidal thoughts?

of course not. :)
i had a wonderful week off, celebrating Hari Raya as a newlywed. Increasing no. of relatives by 10 times (at least!)!

there were feelings of impending doom as Raya approached. It could also be due to my "late" period (no, i am not pregnant. i thought i was...but i am not!).

my typical raya consists of the following:

1. wake up early.
2. go for Raya prayers (if i can!)
3. breakfast at Nenek's where my family convenes (very small family. it is usually US, mrs mumsie's youngest sis & family and mr fat bro & family). tight & cosy. enjoying our nasi impits & kuah kacang (me at least!)
4. everyone disperse to do their own thing.
5. by 2nd raya, i am truly enjoying myself. open house here & there. last year, i was so free & relaxed i even had time to colour my hair.

however, THIS raya sang a different song. and we (mcdreamy and i) were dancing till the sun set.

1. slept over at my parents on Raya eve. Woke up.
2. everyone went for Raya prayers (i can't!), so headed to Nenek's to prepare the Raya spread (pre-cooked by mrs mumsie).
3. everyone arrives. we ate.
4. went back to parents to refresh (for like 5 mins!)
5. went to Shah Alam to his Tok's. photo & eating session. stayed there for a few hours.
6. went back to my parents. hanged out there for a while. mcdreamy was playing the wii with Skinny Bro.
7. after maghrib, we headed back to Shah Alam to his Tok's.
8. Slept over there. something i dreaded for the longest time. i am not used to the whole "sleeping with relatives" kinda thing. :p i know. i am the "abnormal" one under this circumstance.
9. next day, bright & early...we made our way to Segamat to visit his dad's side of the relatives.

whoa...just writing that down made me feel tired again.
hahahaha...

tiring as it was, it was not unpleasant in any way (except the sleeping over thing, but something that needs getting used to!).

so, i survived my "First Raya as a Newlywed".

other things that happened this raya:

1. gained 2 kilos
2. frizzy hair from attempting to curl my hair with my new curling tongs
3. slightly dented wallets from giving out duit raya instead of receiving...:)

& it is still not too late...for me to wish you...
