i always get these bouts of...depression?
i just feel so demotivated right now to do...anything (especially work)!
well, i WOULD feel motivated if i actually had something to do...
this whole year...i have been...under-worked. i don't think i have been under-performing, because i don't have any work to perform.
just feeling a little bit stupid and useless.
not used to being made...somewhat redundant.
after ranting & crying to mcdreamy, he told me to be patient. said that everyone goes through dry periods. but, try having a dry YEAR!
*sigh*
so, to make myself better and more driven...these are some of the key actions i am taking:
- apply to do MBA
- read management books when i have nothing to do at work
- update my resume (or maybe create a new one. can't remember where i stored my old one!)
been calling up MBA schools the whole day yesterday.
both for mcdreamy and i (initially it was him that was more interested in pursuing this, hence inspiring me to do the same!).
at this point of time, we can only afford to do it part-time. not sure if we can let go of our salaries to do it full time.
if we COULD do it full time, we would definitely try to do it overseas. but then again...that really takes up a lot of moolah.
so i have finally shortlisted a few schools i am interested in:
- Manchester Business School (Sunway) - this is the best of the lot. Ranked 4th in UK and 11th worldwide. thing is, they only offer MBA for Financial Managers & Finance Professionals, which might not be applicable to me. if they DO accept me, despite not being in the field, i would definitely take it because this is something new i could learn. the only other thing is that you would need to be officially 27 years old. i will still try my luck for the July intake next year. :p
- Strathclyde University (CDC) - this is the 2nd best. Ranked 7th in UK & 30th worldwide. They do offer General MBA, which is fantastic. and from the looks of it, i am eligible. Next intake is April 2009. They are having preview days this December.
- University of Nottingham Malaysia - Not too bad. Ranked 16th in UK & 76 worldwide. though, read some bad reviews on a blog in terms of passing papers. They also offer General MBA, and i am eligible.
- University of Hertfordshire - the only one not ranked. but this is linked to MIM. will just apply anyway?
*sigh*
