my wedding is just round the corner. the closest thing to preparation i have done is:
1. choosing theme colours for solemnization and reception
2. booking my photographer & videographer
it is important to me that colours match and create harmony. therefore, it is VITAL that colours chosen for weddings must be fresh, light and airy. & what better way to choose colours if not by looking at flowers.
Solemnization
Proposed Strategy: Light, pastel colours - think spring
Chosen colour: Cream, Pink & Light Green
Reception
Proposed Strategy: Contrasting colours that stands out, but still blends together.
Chosen colour: White (for bride & groom's outfit) & shades of purple (mainly for decor & families' outfit) e.g. lilac, lavendar, royal purple, deep purple
i am quite excited, that finally mrs mumsie is beginning to talk about the wedding (and not dodge the topic). in fact, ever since the "showdown", my relationship with her has improved.
and even better, i have lost 1 kg. woo hoo! (just another 8kgs to go).
for the solemnization (included a sketch i made a few months ago), i am considering wearing a modern baju kurung with a boatneck neckline. using cream silk satin as the lining and a light baby pink french lace on the top, the neckline edge should follow the lace design, as to create a more interesting eye point of view (and to distract from huge hips!).
beading is critical, as the colours need to stand out more. again, main beading work must focus at neckline, wrists and hems. however, to create an illusion of a longer torso, beading must trail vertically down the torso. and in order not to ake my legs appear shorter, the beading at the hem must be a vertical design...so...do you think i have put in a lot of thought in this? :p
for the reception, i would like to wear a kebaya-infused dress (in the style of tengku zara). it will have a high collar and v-neck neckline (to enhance neck) and falls through the hips (to minimise them). as a design element, i want a purple sash that ties into a box at the back, with a trailing tail. *sigh*...i like.
haven't really thought about mcdreamy's side. but after discussing with him, i think i will go for traditional kebaya. thinking of songket for this. must be high neck!
there are 2 designers that i am interested in checking out. hopefully they are not extortionately expensive.
