my idol, kimora lee simmons. a fashion mogul, who owns and runs 'baby phat' (part of ex-husband's clotheline 'phat farm').
i love watching her show 'life in the fab lane'.
i like how she's ruthless when it comes to work. but there is a softer side to her, when she puts on her 'mother' hat.
why i think she's great?
1. she's bloody gorgeous
2. she has the same body issues as all of us
3. she has her own clotheline!
4. she is a successful business woman
5. she is a wonderful mother
the whole reason why i want to start "sura" (for now, that is the name)...is to live my dreams.
i have always wanted to go into the fashion industry.
i don't just see this as 'selling clothes'.
i want to provide clothing that actually fits everyday women. and everyday women comes in various shapes. fat, skinny, curvy, tall, short, etc.
so the plan is to provide an "image consulting & fashion online store".
i am happy that my darlings are also willing to join me on this
for now, it is just selling off secondhand clothes.
but even though it is just secondhand clothes, i would like to categorise the clothes in terms of what-body-shape-would-it-suit. then, there could also be a cross-sell mechanism.
"those who purchased this item, would probably also look good in this..."
come the second phase, we will sell clothes that we source from wherever. options are wholesellers, or unique items we see in boutiques/overseas/etc.
during this time, we could also start an online forum within the website...or a "ask us what you should wear to tonight's party"...where the image consulting comes in.
1. we have built our brand
2. i have completed my fashion designing course
that way, on top of the items above, we will have "sura" exclusive items. one-off things that i will hopefully be able to create.
so...to fulfill the third phase...i found this online fashion designing course!
http://www.etelestia.com/
all i need now is a sewing machine. might go search for that over the weekend.
but to get EVERYTHING else started...really need to start taking pics of our clothes at miss ray ray's.
