i have got loads of beef from eid-ul-adha, chicken legs from the previous week and some minced meat.
so, yesterday...decided to make some tom yum spaghetti with the minced meat. a very simple dish to make.
Ingredients
1 chopped onion
A few cloves of garlic - diced
1 chopped red pepper
1 to 2 sliced chillis - depending on the hot-ness you prefer. if you can't handle the heat...try de-seeding it.
mushrooms
basil leaves - very pricey. i THINK you can substitute this with spinach, though i have never tried it before.
tom yum paste - buy those bottled ones
minced meat - 500g is usually enough for 2 persons
spaghetti/linguini or whatever pasta that strikes your fancy. i prefer linguini or spaghettini.
salt, pepper, chilli flakes, coriander leaves to season

How-to's
- Prepare your pasta of choice and set aside.
- heat some olive oil in a wok (don't put too much...cause the tom yum paste usually has some "oil" in it).
- Then, add in the onion, garlic, red pepper, chillis and mushrooms. Stir fry it, until the onion softens.
- Add 1 tablespoon of tom yum paste and mix it with the mixture above.
- Add the minced meat and fry together with the above until it browns.
- Add the pasta and stir fry until everything is mixed together.
- Finally, add in the basil leaves and stir fry until it wilts.
:)
incidentally, i had some leftovers from last night. so thought i'd bring it to work for my "evening snack".
little did i know that it would cause so much ruckus!
"is that curry chicken, i am smelling??"
"no la, i think it is lemak masak cili padi"
no la...it's tom yum spaghetti!
