"the secret" within me...

after numerous recommendations, i finally thought that it was worth checking out "the secret".
so i bought the book, which was written by rhonda byrne (there's also a film documentary!).

"the secret" talks about the law of attraction. law of attraction is where, your thought and feelings play a big role in carving your everyday scenario.
therefore, if you believe in the law of attracation, you would need to pair this with positive thinking, feeling of gratitude, positive visualisation to make it happen.

some might think this is 'balderdash' and somewhat cult-ish...and even diverting from faith.

to a certain extent, this could be true. but i do think that you should read this, with your faith in mind, and take the GOOD things out of this. and even better if you could infuse it with your own faith. in my case, infuse it with Islam.

the book gives an overview of the theory behind "the secret" and how we can apply it in our lives in terms of wealth, relationships, health, the world and self.

to apply the law, you have to follow the Creative Process. i will use my own example so that you can really grasp the idea.

Step 1: Ask
this is where you think about what you want.
in my case, it was to be slim & strong.

the first thing to note, is that you should not focus on losing weight. this will attract back having to lose MORE weight.
another thing is to remove all "fat thoughts" like 'i am fat because i have a slow thyroid/metabolism/hereditary/etc.' . you shouldn't accept this. because if you do, you will always be overweight.
another thing to note is to not believe that food will make you fat. because food will only make you fat, if you EXPECT it to. on the other hand, don't overeat cause it's just unhealthy (ok, that's me talking...not the book!)

so, to ask is to be clear on what your perfect weight is.
picture youself being at this perfect weight.
get pictures of yourself at this perfect weight.
if you don't have it, get a picture of a body that you would like to have.

i thought my perfect weight was during my wedding and honeymoon...
weirdly enough, despite eating all i want... i didn't put on weight. at that point of time, i was working "the secret" without realising...because i didn't FEAR putting on weight. hihi...
so, these are pictures of myself at my "perfect weight"...

Step 2: Believe
this is where you believe what you think.

you have to believe that you will receive this perfect weight.
this means that the perfect weight is already yours.
imagine, pretend, make-believe.
admire & praise those with your idea of perfect-weight bodies.
don't have "fat jeans", cause this means you have subconsciously resigned yourself to being fat.

having good thoughts and feelings about the perfect weight, summons it to yourself.

this might seem like utter rubbish and self-delusioned.

but, heck...just try it!

Step 3: Receive
this is where you feel what you believe.

the only way to attract your perfect weight, is to feel good.
feeling bad about your body is a powerful feeling and you will continually attract feeling bad about your body.

praise & bless every square inch of your body. this is about showing gratitude of what you already have. in Islam, you should praise and thank Allah for giving you an able body. alhamdulillah.

if you are happy & grateful with how you are, and you feel good ... you can only attract good things & perfection to your body. hence being what you asked for in step 1.

Being Slim.

i have been diligently practising this for the past few days.
guess what...

I woke up this morning and weighed myself. i have lost 1.5 kgs! As i walked into the office, everyone exclaimed that i looked glowing and radiant.

that alone made me convinced that there is something to "the secret".
do get the book.
and remember, take the good out of the book.

:)

Note: me losing weight could also be due to me being more positive and therefore, less stressed. based on my blood type B (read my previous post!), stress makes you fat. i have also cut out chicken from my diet. and get this...my rashes are gone! yippeee!!!
