i got pricked and grouped (finally!)
and now i know...
i am a b+ (positive)
there is this famous book, Live/Eat Right For Your Type, by Dr. Peter J. D'adamo. His study states that your blood type ties to your personality and health.
i am always falling sick. and always having allergies. which baffles me, because i am quite a health freak to a certain extent. then, i remembered the book that my mom bought and thought that maybe...just maybe...there is some truth to this.
and that is why i braved the "needle" and got myself tested.

b(e) positive
how not to get stressed??? hehehehe
Personality:
so what i can conclude from this is...
- adaptable and able to thrive in changing conditions
- highly sensitive when life is out of balance
- subjective, easygoing, creative, original and flexible
- insightful, mystical, idealistic, creative, globally-oriented, people-oriented and good at imagining
- learned best through listening, then reflecting on and interpreting what they had observed.
- produces higher than normal cortisol levels when stressed (Note: Cortisol - human's narutal stress-fighting hormone, which regulates conversion of sugar into energy. it affects body's metabolism of glucose, proteins & fats. Imbalances are associated with fatigue, depression, obesity, and immune dysfunction.)
- a healthy blood type B has fewer risks of diseases
- physically fit & mentally balanced
- statistically the tallest (reallY!?!?!?)
- weight gain is caused by corn (yikes!), wheat (yikes!), buckwheat (ermm), lentils (yikes!), tomatoes (ermm ok la), peanuts (no wonder) & sesame seeds (oh nooooo!)
- it affects efficiency of your metabolic process, resulting in fatigue, fluid retention, and hypoglycemia - a severe drop in blood sugar after eating a meal.
- should avoid CHICKEN (wot??! and bloody wot??!!) - leads to stroke & immune disorders
- eat more lamb (phew!), mutton, rabbit (hmmm) and venison
- to lose weight - green vegetables (love 'em), eggs (no wonder it worked pre-wedding), beneficial meats, and low fat dairy (thank God!).
- produces high levels of cortisol when stressed
- overreaction to stress
- difficulty in recovering from stress
- disrupted sleep patterns
- daytime brain fog
- disruptive to GI friendly bacteria and suppresses immune function
- This leads to increased risks for depression, insulin resistance, hypothyroidism
- to maintain the mind/body balance - physical exercises that challenges the mind as well as the body (no wonder i love dancing)
- need to balance meditative exercises and intense physical exercises (good thing i bought the Boot Camp Body Blast workout) :)
- tennis (don't play anymore), martial arts (never tried), cycling (don't have a bike), hiking (no where to hike) and golf (yuck!).
- Visualization is a powerful technique for Type Bs. If you can visualize it, you can achieve it (i always do this!)
- Find healthy ways to express your nonconformist side (define healthy...:p)
- Spend at least twenty minutes a day involved in some creative task that requires your complete attention (does blogging count?)
- Go to bed no later than 11:00PM and sleep for eight hours or more. It is essential for B's to maintain their circadian rhythm (aah...no wonder i am so out of balance)
- Use meditation to relax during breaks (hihi...would look funny though)
- Engage in a community, neighborhood or other group activity that gives you a meaningful connection to a group. Type Bs are natural born networkers
- Be spontaneous (i am trying!!)
- As they age, Type Bs have a tendency to suffer memory loss and have decreased mental acuity. Stay sharp by doing tasks that require concentration, such as crossword puzzles or learn a new skill or language (sudoku time!)
so what i can conclude from this is...
i am getting fat, because i am stressed and i eat corn and the occasional tomato...
how not to get stressed??? hehehehe
